Every skincare regimen starts with the cleanser, and beginning with COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser might just be the perfect start for many! However, its strength in eliminating excess oils may not be gentle enough for some combination types. In this review, I will tell you about my experience with this product.
Like most COSRX products, the packaging is minimal, with simple red accents. Most other products in this line (which contains Salicylic Acid) have a similar look. When I received it, it did not come with outer packaging and it was just the cleanser tube; however, that is not of much concern since the back has extensive directions, the ingredients list, and warnings in both Korean and English.
Containing 150 ml of product, this product is expected to last around three months if used twice a day. Only a pea-sized amount of the white foaming cream is required to cover the face, and a significant amount of sebum is washed away in each session.
My personal experience with this product is mixed. Harnessing the power of 0.5% Salicylic Acid, it greatly decreased the frequency of pimple breakouts I experienced during summertime. However, if my skin ever felt even a bit less oily than usual, I felt hesitant to apply the product since its strength is overpowering. While oily skin types may not notice it, there are some drying effects experienced if you have combination skin with some dry spots. Hence, I have changed up my use of it to target specific areas as winter approached.
As announced in the caution section, this product is not recommended for use for people with damaged skin or people who are allergic to aspirin. There are also some ingredients that are not suitable for people suffering from fungal acne. With all that said, some people may be pleased with the product as it doesn’t contain any kind of alcohol.

It’s safe to say that COSRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser does a good job, but the issues it poses makes it an average choice compared to other products out there, meaning I’ll probably not be repurchasing it.
